Monday Best Clothing Bank

Empowering young people engaged in the justice system with professional clothing for important events.

The Monday Best Clothing Bank is available for young people to borrow age-appropriate clothing to support professional presentation at important events
such as court dates and employment or school interviews.

This project was developed to address the unfortunate reality that first impressions matter and that they often prevail even when contradictory evidence is presented.

This program aims to address the socio-economic challenge that some young people face of not having reliable access to smart-casual clothing. Outcomes associated with this project will include improved empowerment and confidence for young people to feel better prepared for important events, as well as improved opportunities for young people associated with professional presentation at school, job or volunteering interviews.

The wardrobe for this program has been provided by the non-profit organisation Thread Together. Through this collaboration, HI can provide young people with new, fashionable and age-appropriate clothing whilst also supporting Thread Together in diverting excess clothing from landfill.

JOIN OUR LATEST PILOT PROJECT

Monday Best Clothing Bank is working with youth justice service providers to lend clothing to young people via the Children's Court of Western Australia.
